I recently ordered a laptop from Best Buy. I thought it is a pretty good deal (Toshiba-Satellite Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor-Midnight Breeze-L505-S5984). It cost about $150 less then regular price, but has to be picked up at store. I could not find any store that is close to my home have it. So I chose the closest which is 2 hours away. Very soon, I got confirm email said it’s ready for me to pick up. I thought it’s not too bad if I can get this good deal. But, few hours later, I got phone call from store said their system messed up, they don’t actually have it, need me to wait while they have to transfer from other location. I said ok, I probably pick up next weekend. About 3 days later some one from store left me message and emailed me saying it’s ready to be picked up. So here today morning I drove more than 2 hours (because it’s snowing) to there, excited that I finally can have it. You know what, their store system messed up again! Don’t have it! After long search and talk to manager (luckily staffs are nice), manager was able to find one from other store location (let’s hope it’s the right one), they will ship to me next week some time. But, it this $150 price difference worth it? I am think I will probably never do this again, if paying this more can save me such trouble, I’d rather pay.

update – 2 weeks later
I have finally received my laptop through ups shipped by BestBuy, and package condition is good, thank god it is the model what I have ordered. So far I am happy. But still that is the lesson I have learned.

I am pretty happy with this Holmes HCH4953-Uwhich I have bought recently. Compare to my recent bought Optimus H-5210 which only has 800W power, it is small and powerful (1500W), make a little bit noise when it’s up, because it is fan active, but still consider to be silent. It is also cool as it has auto control of temperature which you can set it up and leave. We use it at bed room about 18×20, turn on before sleep, did not feel cold at all, very good. Only thing I need mention is I have to set it as 70 degree to keep room at 65, it’s not a big deal though. Now it is Nov. not too cold, let’s see how far it will go as the real winter comes in.

Now when real cold weather kicks in, seems this little guy need more help on it’s power for a room of 18×20. I have added another 1500w of fan like heater, turn on both of them before sleep, so far so good.

I recently bought this Optimus H-5210 heater from Amazon, very happy with it so far. It has two 400W light tubes, total is 800W. Exactly like it was said on Amazon, very quiet, unlike the other fan like heater I have which makes weird noise if you don’t put it on maxmum heat power. My suggestion is put this close to you, for room like mine 8×10, 400W is good enough to keep you warm, not too hot, just cozy.

Oh still love this little one, again very quiet. Now is snowing out side, but in this 8×10 room, I am only use 400w, good enough.
